The layers of Night Train.
In Night Train the train is the main sound, heard from inside the carriage. The rain on the roof, the air conditioning and a pendulum clock sit underneath, and a very low bed of brown noise closes the space.
Press listen: each sound comes in, fades out and changes volume on its own, just like in the app. Here the panel only shows it; in the app, each row is a volume control.

In Night Train you are inside the carriage: the main sound is the train on the tracks, steady, with the stereo space slowly opening and closing. The rain hits the roof from the first seconds, and the air conditioning sits underneath, barely noticeable.
Every so often a pendulum clock shows up for less than a minute and fades away again. At the very bottom there is brown noise, kept very low, which closes the space without turning into hiss. It is repetitive on purpose, so your thoughts lose track of time.
